The May Keziah CONNECTIONS evening took place at the sk:n clinic at London Wall.
As the ladies arrived, Abbi the branch manager welcomed us and we all got to chatting and catching up like old friends.
Abbi has been a therapist for 8 years prior to her managerial role and she discusses the strict standard medical protocols that are followed within this institution. From the nurses, therapists, dermatologists and consultants that all discuss the treatments after a tailor made for you after every consultation. These are all overseen by a medical director.
The most invasive procedure provided by sk:n clinics are mole and keloid removals and they cater for a wide range of dermatological treatments, all suitable those with a darker skin tone. They provide laser treatments for hair removal and Blue Isolaz light treatments for acne treatments – which help breaks down accumulated bacteria and dead skin cells which are mostly responsible for severe acne.
Their hair removal treatments take up to 40 minutes and this is provided in their 8 London clinics. They cater to 1-6 skin types with 6 been the darkest skin tone.
We were updated on the need for protective skincare (a free full sized sunscreen from the sk:n product line were given to each attendee!) and the correct method of application – first cleanse, tone, serum, moisturise and then apply sunscreen before foundation. Worries over the white film that many sun protection products leave on darker skintones were alleyed, a quick demonstration on our resident gorgeous Keziah CONNECTIONS host Horaios showed we had nothing to fear!. Free consultations were arranged for all of the guest – with a 20% of all products in store.
We then got caught up, collected business cards and bid each other farewell for the night.
